Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Berlin, OLT and Lufthansa sell cheap tickets for low airfares on flights to Bremen Airport (BRE) from London, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Paris...
Bremen Airport is a mere 3.5 km (2.2 miles) from the center of Bremen, a city-state on the North Sea Atlantic Coast in the northwest of Germany.
Bremen Airport is a regional airport served by both low-cost carriers and full-service airlines. However, traditional full-service airlines such as Lufthansa, Air France, and KLM usually use affiliated regional carriers to bring passengers from Bremen to bigger hubs. Ryanair is the largest budget airline flying from Bremen while numerous low-cost and charter flights are also available on lesser-known airlines to popular Mediterranean holiday destinations.
Budget airline Ryanair is the largest operator at Bremen Airport. It flies twice daily to London-Stansted (STN); daily to Paris-Beauvais; four times per week to Dublin, Girona (Barcelona), Milan-Bergamo, Murcia, Oslo-Torp, Tampere, Venice-Treviso, and Verona; three times per week to Bratislava, Budapest, Málaga, Malta, Pisa, Riga, and Stockholm-Skavsta; and twice weekly to Alghero, Alicante, and Trapani.
Regional airline Ostfriesische Lufttransport (OLT) is based at Bremen Airport and flies at least daily to Hamburg (HAM), and on weekdays daily to Bristol, Toulouse, and Zurich, and twice daily to Brussels, Copenhagen, and Nuremberg.
Germany’s favorite budget airline, Air Berlin, flies up to four times daily to Munich (MUC).
Lufthansa has daily from Bremen up to five flights to Frankfurt (FRA), eight to Munich (MUC), and four to Stuttgart (STR). Some flights are on Eurowings or Lufthansa City Line flying on behalf of Lufthansa.
The easiest and fastest way from downtown Bremen to Bremen Airport is by Tram (Straßenbahn) Line 6. The journey takes 17 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and cost €2.10. During peak hours, trams depart every 10 minutes but half hourly on Sunday and at night.
Although the tram is the fastest, Bremen Airport is one of few airports where a taxi can be hailed without fear of breaking the bank. Taxis take only about 20 minutes to downtown at a cost of just over €10.
By car, use autobahn A1, exit Arsten, and follow the signs.
