Guadalajara International Airport, officially Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in the state of Jalisco, is the third busiest in Mexico after Mexico City and Cancun. Annually, around 6 million passengers pass through Guadalajara Airport – more than a third arrives on international flights.
Numerous non-stop flights are available to US destinations with Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles particularly well served. The only non-US international destination with non-stop flights to Guadalajara is Panama City. Mexican full-service airline Mexicana has by far the largest number of international flights from Guadalajara Airport. Mexicana flies at least daily, unless otherwise noted, from Guadalajara to Bakersfield (BFL) (3x per week), Chicago-O'Hare (ORD), Fresno (FAT) (5x per week), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX) (5x daily), Oakland (OAK), Portland (PDX), Sacramento (SMF), San Francisco (SFO), and San Jose, California (SJC). Mexicana also has numerous connections via Mexico City on its domestic and worldwide network.
Mexican full-service airline Aeroméxico flies non-stop from Guadalajara daily to Chicago-O'Hare (ORD) and Ontario (ONT), twice daily to Los Angeles(LAX), and three times per week to Phoenix (PHX). Aeromexico allows for guaranteed connections to its vast domestic and international network via Mexico City (MEX).
American Airlines flies under its own name or as American Eagle up to three times daily from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Guadalajara.
No American airline has more flights to Mexico than Continental Airlines. Continental Airlines has up to seven daily flights from Houston-Intercontinental (IAH) to Guadalajara as Continental, or Continental Express flights operated by ExpressJet Airlines
Delta Air Lines flies twice daily to Guadalajara from Atlanta (ATL), daily from Los Angeles (LAX), and weekly from Salt Lake City (SLC).
US Airways flies daily to Guadalajara from Phoenix (PHX). These flights are operated by Mesa Airlines doing business as US Airways Express
Currently the only scheduled international flights to Guadalajara not originating from the USA are the five flights per week on Copa Airlines from Panama City (PTY).
